Also, the Ticket Checking Staff (TTE) can drop such passengers at the next station and charge them the fare from their boarding station to the next station.

Now tickets will be booked only 2 months in advance

Railways has also reduced the time limit for ticket booking. Now you can book train tickets only 60 days in advance, not 120 days in advance. That is, where earlier you could book tickets 4 months in advance, now booking will be done only 2 months in advance.

Now mobile OTP is necessary for online ticket booking

Now if you book tickets online from IRCTC website or app, then verification with mobile OTP will be necessary. This will stop fake booking and misuse.

Railways says that all these rules have been brought so that there is less crowd in reserved coaches and passengers can get a more comfortable and safe journey. So keep this in mind before traveling in train next time.
