Coward Pakistan does it again! Defence minister threatens to attack if India decides to….
New Delhi: Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif issued a warning to India that if it violates the Indus Water Treaty and builds any structure to stop or divert the water, then it will be considered an attack against his country, and its army will destroy the structure. He said that “violating the Indus Water Treaty is not easy, it will be a declaration of war against Pakistan. An attack is not limited to just firing cannonballs or guns, it has many forms, one of which is this. Due to this, the people of the country can die of hunger or thirst.”
Bilateral relations between India and Pakistan have further deteriorated following the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives of tourists. Following the terror attack, India has taken several strict steps against Pak, including suspending the Indus River Water Treaty of 1960.
Earlier, there was a sharp reaction in India on the statement of former Pakistan Foreign Minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto on the Indus Water Treaty.
Bilawal Bhutto had said in a rally held in Sukkur, that ‘either our water will flow from the Indus river or their blood will flow.’
Several prominent Indian leaders, including Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Union Water Power Minister CR Patil, had reacted sharply to Bhutto’s statement.
However, in a conversation with the BBC, Bilawal Bhutto clarified his statement, stating that in the rally he had only reiterated the ‘sentiments of the common Pakistani people’.
