New Delhi: Rashid Khan produced a moment of sheer brilliance on the field during the IPL 2025 clash between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday. The Afghan all-rounder stunned fans and commentators alike with a breathtaking diving catch to dismiss Travis Head. In the fifth over of SRH’s innings, Head mistimed a shot off Prasidh Krishna, sending the ball high into the air. Positioned at deep mid-wicket, Rashid sprinted nearly 32 metres backward before launching into a full-length dive to complete an extraordinary catch. The stunning effort was quickly hailed as one of the best catches of IPL 2025, with the clip going viral across social media platforms.
Gujarat Titans roared back to form with a dominant 38-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad, thanks to a stellar all-round performance in their IPL 2025 clash on Friday. Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler laid the foundation with explosive half-centuries, powering GT to a formidable total. Their batting heroics were perfectly backed up by Prasidh Krishna, whose exceptional bowling display dismantled SRH’s chase and sealed a much-needed win for the Titans.
The result all but ended Sunrisers Hyderabad’s hopes of reaching the playoffs, dealing a heavy blow to their campaign. In contrast, Gujarat Titans significantly boosted their chances of qualifying for the top four, reigniting their playoff ambitions with the convincing win.
The trio of Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler, and Sai Sudharsan combined brilliantly to power Gujarat Titans to a formidable total of 224 for six, laying the foundation for a dominant win.
In response, Sunrisers Hyderabad began their chase on a positive note but failed to maintain the momentum, eventually being restricted to 186 for six. Abhishek Sharma was the standout performer, scoring a valiant 74 off 41 balls.
This came on the back of a fiery 38-ball 76 from Shubman Gill, who, along with Sai Sudharsan’s brisk 48 off 23 balls, powered Gujarat Titans to a flying start with an 87-run opening partnership in just 6.5 overs. Jos Buttler then carried the momentum forward with a fluent 64 off 37 deliveries, taking GT beyond the 200-run mark.
Prasidh Krishna continued his fine form with the ball, delivering a clinical spell of 2 for 19 in his four overs, playing a pivotal role in restricting SRH. However, Gujarat Titans were dealt a slight injury scare when Ishant Sharma limped off the field midway through the final over, unable to complete it — the only dampener in an otherwise dominant outing.
