Ganjam Athletes Triumph at National Taekwondo Championship with 17 Medals

Berhampur: Athletes from Ganjam district have brought glory to Odisha with an outstanding performance at the National Taekwondo Championship held in Nashik, Maharashtra, securing an impressive haul of 17 medals.

The championship, which took place from April 25 to 29, 2025, witnessed fierce competition, with Ganjam’s team showcasing exceptional skill, discipline, and determination.

The 14-member contingent from Ganjam bagged 4 gold, 5 silver, and 8 bronze medals, cementing their reputation as formidable competitors on the national stage.

Under the expert guidance of Vijay Academy of Martial Arts

coach Satish Kumar Rao, Kiran Kumar Nayak, Kaibalya Badamundi, and Kuldeep Digal, the team delivered a stellar performance.

The Ganjam District Taekwondo Association honored the athletes at a felicitation ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by the association’s president, Sujit Kumar Mishra, along with other dignitaries, who lauded the athletes for bringing pride to the district.

The team’s success is a testament to their rigorous training and unwavering commitment to the sport, the dignitaries said.
