Twin brothers become joint district toppers

Malkangiri: In an unusual yet inspiring incident, a pair of twin brothers from Malkangiri district have topped the district as both of them scored 560 out of the total 600 marks in the recently concluded Class X board exams.

The results of the matriculation exam were declared by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha Friday. The twins were identified as Daniel Lenka and Dambaru Lenka, students of Saberi High School in Kalimela block of this district.

Their coincidentally identical scores have left people abuzz in the district as well as the state. Daniel said, “It’s so surprising that we both have secured the same marks. We focused on consistency and practised writing. We used to study for 7-8 hours daily to cover our syllabus and focused on revision.”

He further said, “A designed class called ‘Pride of Malyabanta Group’ has helped us in our studies to achieve our goals as expert teachers used to guide us.”

Daniel and Dambaru have expressed their aim of becoming doctors in future to develop the healthcare facilities in their district.

“There are a lot of people in our district who belong to the rural tribal belt and are unable to receive proper medical treatment. We want to contribute to the healthcare facilities to improve the lives of people in our district. That’s why we want to be doctors,” said Daniel and Dambaru.
