Indian Railways Retiring Rooms, Know The Charges, Types & Booking Process For Retiring Rooms

Retiring rooms are short-stay accommodation facilities available at major Indian railway stations. Offered by Indian Railways, they are meant for passengers to rest during layovers, delays, or overnight stays. Rooms are available in AC and non-AC variants, as well as dormitories, and can be booked for single, double, or family occupancy.

Room Types & Charges

The charges vary based on the type of room, location, and duration. Here’s a rough guide:

  • AC Single/Double Room: Rs 200–Rs 800 for 12/24 hours

  • Non-AC Room: Rs 150–Rs 500

  • Dormitory Beds: Rs 100–Rs 300 per bed

Rates are generally economical, making them a cost-effective choice compared to hotels, especially for short durations.
