After Inavia, Another Aviation Firm Eyes Bhopal For MRO Facility Near Raja Bhoj Airport
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): After the recent MoU signed by Germany-based Inavia Aviation with the state government to set up a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Bhopal, another player in the aviation sector has now come forward with a similar proposal.
According to sources in the Aviation Department, Jet Serve Private Limited, a Gurugram-based company, has submitted a letter of intent to establish an MRO unit near Raja Bhoj Airport, seeking 20 acres of land for the proposed setup. The proposal is currently under evaluation by the state authorities.
“We have received a formal letter from Jet Serve Pvt Ltd expressing interest in setting up an MRO facility near the airport,” said an official from the department.
A delegation from Jet Serve reportedly met senior state officials recently, reiterating their commitment to investing in Madhya Pradesh’s aviation ecosystem.
If both Inavia Aviation and Jet Serve move forward with their plans, Bhopal could become the only city in the region to host two MRO facilities, attracting aircraft from across the country for maintenance and repair services.
The twin projects are expected to generate a significant number of jobs across technical, administrative and support roles, boosting local employment and helping establish Bhopal as a burgeoning aviation hub.
The state government has been actively focusing on developing the aviation sector since last year. Initiatives include the introduction of aviation-related courses in higher education to create a skilled workforce for the industry.
Notably, Inavia Aviation has already announced a phased investment of ?2,000 crore, which includes setting up a plane dismantling unit as part of its MRO plans in the state.
