Micro-level feedback drive launched in Karnal to resolve citizens’ issues

In a bid to strengthen public engagement and address grassroots issues efficiently, the Karnal district administration has rolled out a micro-level feedback system under the state government’s good governance initiative.

Under the new model, sanitation teams of the Karnal Municipal Corporation have been assigned the task to distribute and collect forms designed by the district administration.

They would distribute specially designed citizen feedback forms to each household, enabling residents to list five public and five personal grievances they face in their daily lives, said Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh, the brains behind the project.

The citizen-centric initiative aims to eliminate the need for residents to run from office to office to report issues.

Instead, they could simply record concerns — pertaining to issues such as electricity, roads, sewerage, streetlights or personal problems such as pensions, Aadhaar and family IDs — through the form, and hand it to the collection team, he added.

Residents will be required to provide complete details of their colony, ward, sector and street to ensure accurate identification and resolution of the problems.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Yash Jaluka, who recently held a meeting with MC employees in this regard, said the initiative would cover all zones of the city.

Nearly 100 door-to-door waste collection teams, including helpers and drivers, will carry out form distribution and collection under the supervision of zonal supervisors.

With a target of reaching all 80,000 households in the city, the administration has planned to create a comprehensive database of area-wise issues, ensuring timely redressal, he said, adding that the initiative would directly be monitored by the DC Uttam Singh and Municipal Commissioner Vaishali Sharma.

A dedicated team of officials had been entasked with resolving grievances in a time-bound manner, the ADC added.
