Police launch search operation to dismantle terror network

In a renewed effort to combat terrorism and dismantle terror-supporting infrastructure in the district, Srinagar police have intensified searches across several locations in the city. The operation is part of ongoing investigations into cases filed under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

The police conducted searches at the residences of Imtiyaz Ahmad Parray of Kalamdanpora area; Arsh Ahmad Koul of Dalal Mohalla; Mutaib Zahoor Bhat, a resident of Bilal Colony; Basit Ashraf Malik, a resident of Nowpora Safakadal and Mohd Rafiq Shah of Hazari Bazar Rainwari. All the accused are involved in different cases.

The police said the searches were conducted in accordance with proper legal procedures in the presence of executive magistrates and independent witnesses under the supervision of the officers of J&K Police.

The searches were carried out to seize arms, documents, digital devices etc. with the objective of evidence collection and intelligence gathering to detect and deter any conspiratorial or terrorist activity against the security of the nation.

The police said that the action of police aims to dismantle the terrorist ecosystem in J&K by identifying and taking legal action against individuals engaged in such activities.
