BJP stages protest in Mandi demanding immediate deportation of Pakistani nationals

Demanding immediate action against Pakistani nationals residing in Himachal Pradesh, the BJP staged a strong protest here today. The protest was led by BJP state general secretary Bihari Lal Sharma, who also submitted a memorandum to the Governor and Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner.

Addressing the media, Sharma condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. He blamed the attack on directives from the Pakistani government and its intelligence agency.

Sharma stated that the Central Government has taken significant steps in response, including the revocation of the Indus Waters Treaty and the downgrading of diplomatic ties with Pakistan. Home Minister Amit Shah has directed all states to identify and deport Pakistani nationals living in India. However, Sharma criticised the state government for its inaction in this matter.

“If the state government fails to take swift action to identify and deport Pakistani nationals, BJP will launch an aggressive state-wide agitation,” Sharma warned.

Supporting the demand, Balh MLA Inder Singh Gandhi emphasised the need to deport all Pakistani nationals — both legal and illegal — for national security. Former minister Anil Sharma, district BJP president Nihal Chand Sharma, Zila Parishad president Pal Verma, and Mayor Virender Bhatt were also present at the protest.

The protest highlighted BJP’s call for national security and urged the state government to align with the Centre’s firm stance on dealing with Pakistani nationals in India.
