VIDEO: Beed Protestors Bathe Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar’s Cutout With Soap And Water Amidst Water Scarcity
In protest of the acute water crisis in Beed district, residents led by social activist Dr. Ganesh Dhavale offered a bath (Abhyangya Snana) to the cutout of Deputy Chief Minister and Beed district’s guardian minister Ajit Pawar on Monday morning.
A memorandum of demands has been submitted to the district collector.
Social activist Dr. Ganesh Dhavale said that the ₹114 crore Atal Amrut Drinking Water Scheme, launched around seven years ago for Beed town, has completely failed.
"As per the agreement in the contract, the work of the Atal Amrut Drinking Water Scheme should have been completed within two years. Seven years have passed, yet the scheme has not started. The ₹114 crore Atal Amrut Drinking Water Scheme work was allotted to Pragati Construction, Latur. The contractor should be blacklisted, and a penalty should be imposed on the concerned construction company and contractor," said the activist.
Ramnath Khod, Shaikh Younus, Shaikh Mubin, Shaikh Mushtaque, Sudam Tandale, and Ashok Yede participated in the agitation.
