SIT To Probe, Control Cases Of ‘Love Jihad’ In Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): With multiple cases of ‘Love Jihad’ along with rape and blackmail of Hindu girls in many districts, a state-level special investigation team (SIT) has been constituted by DGP Kailash Makwana.
The SIT will be headed by IG Bhopal (rural) Abhay Singh and will be assisted by Additional Commissioner of Police Pankaj Srivastava and three senior officials of PHQ including Assistant Inspector General of Police, Woman Safety and Superintendent of Police (State Cyber Cell).
As per the order, the SIT has been formed after it came to the fore that girls/women belonging to marginalised and socially unsafe and weaker sections were targeted and subjected to physical, mental and social exploitation after being lured into love traps and threats in an organised manner.
Moreover, the victims were forced into religious conversions either through allurements, threats and pressure.
Such incidents were not only criminal in nature but also against the dignity and freedom of women and pose a serious challenge to peace in the society.
The objectives of SIT
Identification and detailed investigation of such cases in the concerned districts, where girls and women have been forced into illegal religious conversions through allurements or threats
Identification of persons, organisations or gangs involved in such cases and ensuring strict action against them
To investigate involvement of any inter-state or foreign network in such cases
Collection of evidences through analyses of cyber and digital means involved in these cases
Taking measures and suggestions to stop such incidents in future
