MP May 6 Weather Update: Showers & Wind Cool Down Bhopal; Indore Witnesses Coldest Night Of Season; Hail Alert In 16 Districts Including Gwalior

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): There is an alert of hailstorm in 16 districts of Madhya Pradesh including Gwalior today on Tuesday. At the same time, there will be a period of storm and rain in more than 30 districts including Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur-Ujjain. In some districts, the wind speed can be up to 60 km per hour.

Earlier on Monday, several districts including capital Bhopal, Gwalior, Mandsaur, Raisen, Vidisha, Ratlam, Bhind, Chhatarpur, Mauganj, Panna, Khargone, witnessed rain and storm.

Hail was reported in Shajapur, Neemuch, Sehore while high-speed winds swept away a wedding tent in Guna.

Temperature dropped significantly

Similar weather will remain on Tuesday as well. According to the Meteorological Department, hail may fall in Gwalior, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Shivpuri, Maihar, Umaria, Shahdol, Anuppur, Dindori, Mandla, Balaghat, Seoni, Chhindwara, Pandhurna.

Due to storm, rain and hail on Monday, the day temperature in most cities dropped significantly. Raisen was the coldest. The mercury here reached 27.4°C. It fell by 8.6°C in a single day. In Ujjain, the mercury fell by 5.5°C to 35.5°C. Temperatures also decreased in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur.

Coldest night of may

Indore experienced the coldest night of May on Monday. The mercury dropped by 7.3°C to 17.2°C. According to weather expert, such a cold night has not occurred in May in 25 years.

Meteorologist said that the weather has changed in the entire state due to Western Disturbance, two cyclonic circulations and trough. On Monday, there was a storm, hail and rain in many districts. The weather will be similar on Tuesday as well. There is an alert of storm and rain till 9 April.
