New Delhi: In a massive military response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, India launched Operation Sindoor and targeted as many as nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK), the Defence Ministry informed. The Ministry described the major operation as precise and restrained. The fighter jets of the Indian Air Force (IAF) specifically targeted locations involved in planning cross-border terrorism.
The statement issued by the Defence Ministry read, “No Pakistani military facilities were targeted, underscoring India’s non-escalatory intent,” the ministry said in a statement.
Before launching Operation Sindoor, India had activated its sophisticated air defence system. It combines indigenous, imported, and jointly developed technologies. This powerful air defence system includes the Russian S-400 and the Indian Akash SAM. These efforts aim to protect against any offensive strikes from Pakistan. Additionally, New Delhi is also working on Project Kusha.
