Yellow alert for thunderstorm in 11 districts till May 10
Rainfall is set to continue across Himachal Pradesh for a few days and the state’s Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds for several districts till May 10.
A yellow warning of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds at isolated places has been issued for 11 districts with the exception of Kinnaur for May 7. Similarly, a yellow alert has been issued for nine districts with the exception of Solan, Sirmaur and Kinnaur districts for May 8. Also, a yellow warning has been issued for Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla and Lahaul and Spiti for May 9 and 10.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain occurred in a few places of the state during the past 24 hours. The minimum temperatures were 2°C to 3°C below normal while the maximum temperatures fell by 2°C to 4°C in the past 24 hours.
Shimla recorded the maximum temperature of 21.2°C, Dharamsala (28°C), Manali (20°C), Dalhousie (19°C), Solan (27°C), Sundernagar (30.7°C), Kufri (16.1°C), Kasauli (23.2°C), Narkanda (16.7°C) and Kalpa (19.8°C).
