Operation Sindoor: Who is Wing Commander Vyomika Singh from Indian Air Force and why is she trending
Under ‘Operation Sindoor’, the IAF on the wee hours carried out night raids on the nine hideouts located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir. Terror headquarters of banned Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen were targeted. Among the targets hit in a precise operation were Markaz Subhan Allah at Bahawalpur, Sarjal at Tehra Kalan, Markaz Abbas in Kotli and Syedna Bilal camp in Muzaffarabad (all of the banned Jaish-e-Mohammed terror group).
Col Sofia Quereshi from Army and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh from Air Force are expected to address the briefing and give details about the wee hours of Thursday.
Who is Vyomika Singh?
Vyomika Singh is a Wing Commander in the IAF who decided to join the Indian Air Force when she was in class 6.
Once talking about her dreams she said, “I had dreamed of becoming a pilot during my school days. There was no entry for women pilots for a long time. When I graduated, one day I saw that now women pilots can join the Air Force. After this, my wings got a new flight. Then I gave the UPSC CDS exam, went for SSB and today I am here.”
