'Perfect Strike': PM Modi Briefs Cabinet After 'Operation Sindoor' That Avenged Pahalgam Terror Attack; Terms It 'Moment Of Pride'

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday briefed his cabinet on India’s precision military operation, Operation Sindoor, carried out in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. Calling it a “moment of pride for all of us,” Modi described the tri-service attack as a 'perfect strike' for the flawless execution by the armed forces and lauded India’s resolve to strike back hard against terror networks operating from across the border.

Addressing ministers during a special cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister detailed how Indian forces launched strikes deep inside Pakistan’s Punjab province and in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), four targets in Pakistan and five in PoK, completely destroying known terrorist facilities. “Hum sab ke liye garv ka pal hai,” he said, according to an IANS report.

The strikes come in direct response to the Pahalgam massacre, in which 26 civilians were killed at Baisaran Valley by terrorists. The brutal killings sparked nationwide grief and fury, leading to widespread calls for swift retribution. Modi had earlier, during a rally in Bihar, promised that India would hunt down those responsible and their handlers, declaring that India would “pursue the terrorists to the ends of the earth.”

Operation Sindoor, carried out with remarkable precision, targeted nine terror camps of banned outfits such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. According to reports citing military sources, these locations served as major hubs for recruitment, training, and indoctrination of terrorists. One such key target was Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur, located around 100 km from the International Boundary, which operated as JeM’s headquarters.

At a joint press briefing held in New Delhi, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Colonel Sofiya Quresh of the Indian Army, and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh of the Indian Air Force shared insights and surveillance footage from the strike. Colonel Quresh confirmed that no Pakistani military installation was targeted and emphasized that efforts were taken to avoid civilian casualties. “Top terrorists often visited these facilities. As of now, there are no reports of civilian losses,” she added.

Later in the day, PM Modi is expected to brief President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan about the operation’s planning, execution, and aftermath, marking the first official high-level presidential briefing post-strike. Operation Sindoor stands as one of India’s most decisive and coordinated military responses to terror in recent history.
