VIDEO | ‘Four drones came...’: Pakistani eyewitness recounts Operation Sindoor strikes

A video has emerged purportedly showing a Pakistani eyewitness in Muridke narrating India’s strike on Markaz Taiba as part of the Operation Sindoor, which was launched in the early hours of Wednesday.

Markaz Taiba at Muridke was one of the nine locations targeted by India in the military action in response to the killing of 26 people, mainly tourists, in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22. More than 80 terrorists linked to banned outfits Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen have reportedly been killed in the strikes.

"It was around 12:45 in the night,” the man is heard saying in a Reuters video put out by ANI. “We were asleep... one drone came first, followed by three other drones, and they attacked the mosques... everything is destroyed.”

Markaz Taiba at Muridke, dubbed the 'terror factory', is believed to be LeT’s headquarters and one of its most important training centres. Recruits are reportedly indoctrinated over two weeks, and given physical training here. Around 1,000 students in different courses get enrolled in this camp, a PTI report said.

The other LeT targets were Markaz Ahle Hadith at Barnala and Shwawai Nalla camp at Muzaffarabad.

The JeM locations targeted in Operation Sindoor were Markaz Subhan Allah at Bahawalpur, Sarjal at Tehra Kalan, Markaz Abbas in Kotli and Syedna Bilal camp in Muzaffarabad, while the Hizbul Mujahideen targets were Makaz Raheel Shahid in Kotli and Mehmoona Joya in Sialkot.

Pakistan Army spokesman Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry told the media that at least 26 people were killed and 46 injured in the strikes by India.

The Pahalgam terror attack had led to an escalation in tensions between India and Pakistan, with the former suspending the Indus Waters Treaty among other punitive measures. Both the countries shut down the only operational land border crossing at Attari, and also closed their airspaces to each other.
