Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur took part in nationwide mock drill and a rehearsal on how to respond in case of a bomb explosion or other emergencies, was conducted at Samdariya Mall on Wednesday afternoon.

The mock drill was organized by the district administration and included teams from the fire brigade, health department, electricity department, and the bomb disposal squad.

The drill recreated a scene of a blast inside the mall to test emergency preparedness.

According to Jabalpur SP Sampat Upadhyay, officials practiced various tasks such as finding explosive devices, rescuing and treating injured people, controlling fires, and managing law and order during emergency situations.

This was part of a nationwide mock drill, and four locations in Jabalpur were selected for this purpose.

Jabalpur Collector Deepak Saxena, SP Sampat Upadhyay, and other senior officials were present during the drill. Volunteers from Civil Defence and other organizations also took part.

The aim of the drill was to raise awareness among the general public and train authorities to handle situations like bomb blasts with caution and speed.

The nationwide mock drills, which began on Wednesday across several states and union territories, are meant to simulate hostile scenarios such as air raids, blackouts, and mass evacuations.

With increasing tensions between India and Pakistan, officials said that these exercises are a critical step toward ensuring civilian readiness.
