Prateik Smita Patil on Babil Khan’s Instagram meltdown: ‘His father passed away at a very crucial age in his life’

Last week, the late Irrfan Khan's son Babil Khan posted a video on Instagram labelling Bollywood the “fakest industry”, name-dropping popular Bollywood celebrities like Ananya Panday, Arjun Kapoor, Adarsh Gourav, Shanaya Kapoor and many more. The video stirred confusion, igniting a social media debate, questioning whether the Logout star was being critical of his peers or supportive. Numerous celebrities have come to his support, sending him well wishes and love. Now, in a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, actor Prateik Smita Patil justified Khan’s meltdown, citing that he lost his father at a young age. Patil said, “Irrfan Khan passed away at a very crucial age in his life... You have to put it into perspective, and you have to understand what that boy has been through. I understand it more than anybody else. His father made it beyond anybody in this industry could make it, and what an actor, what an actor. So my heart goes out to him.”

The Sikandar actor revealed that he felt empathetic for Khan. Patil himself lost his mother, actress Smita Patil, during childbirth. “I was crying for him yesterday... I was a kid, I was a child to a legend who never for me, never existed... if you're born into famous parents, it's definitely not easy, definitely I feel for Babil. I wish him only well, I wish him all the love and healing, and I know his father's looking out for him, I know he is.”
