Pakistan Ceasefires
On the evening of May 6, the Pakistani Army began shelling civilian zones in Poonch, Tangdhar, and other border areas close to the Line of Control (LoC), an attack that continued into May 7. The effects of this shelling caused major destruction to many houses in Poonch, forcing numerous residents to escape for safety.
Regrettably, in the midst of the turmoil, numerous people incurred injuries, underscoring the risks encountered by non-combatants. In spite of the danger, numerous residents showed exceptional strength, uniting to back Operation Sindoor, a mission initiated by the Indian Army aimed at terrorist nests in Pakistan and the Pakistan-administered region of Kashmir. This military action was a direct reply to an earlier terrorist assault that took place in Pahalgam.
Despite the intensification of Operation Sindoor, reports revealed that Pakistan persisted in its ceasefire breaches the next Wednesday, heightening anxiety among the residents. Defence sources indicate that on May 6 and 7, the Pakistani forces fired artillery without discrimination along the Line of Control and the International Border.
Civilian Casualties In Ceasefire
Recent clashes in Poonch have resulted in 15 deaths, including four children, and 43 injuries due to shelling, underscoring the region's instability. The victims, including siblings Ayan and Aruba, reveal the tragic impact of Pakistan's ceasefire violations on local families.
