The weather is predicted to stay the same over the next day.
According to IMD, Delhi will have a cloudy sky with light rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. The wind speed may go up to 30-40 kmph, and at times even 50 kmph in the evening or night. The maximum temperature on May 8 is likely to be between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may stay around 23 to 25 degrees. There is no heatwave warning for now.
The IMD yellow alert means there will be moderate rain, and people are advised to stay alert and carry an umbrella while they go out. The same kind of weather is expected on Friday, May 9. IMD says Delhi might again witness, a cloudy sky with light rain, thunder, lightning, and strong winds. The maximum temperature on Friday will be between 34 and 36 degrees, and the minimum will range from 25 to 27 degrees. No heatwave is expected on Friday either.
Earlier, on Wednesday, May 7, the IMD had informed that Delhi would have a partly cloudy sky with light rain and thunderstorms.
Talking about the larger region of North West India, the IMD said a Western Disturbance is present above West Madhya Pradesh and nearby areas at heights between 1.5 km and 7.6 km above sea level. There is also a cyclonic circulation on top of northwest Madhya Pradesh and surrounding regions at around 0.9 km height.
Also, a low-pressure area is spreading from southwest Rajasthan to north Jharkhand, passing through areas like northwest and east Madhya Pradesh and north Chhattisgarh. This is the reason behind current rainy and stormy weather.
Altogether, people in Delhi-NCR should expect light rain and pleasant weather for the next few days and are suggested to stay safe during thunderstorms.
