'Where is proof for downed Indian jets?' CNN host's blunt question has Pakistan's Khawaja Asif giving bizarre explanation

Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif was seen fumbling his words when CNN anchor Becky Anderson confronted him with facts and some blunt questions. The journalist asked the minister if he has any evidence to prove that Pakistan struck down Indian jets. Asif cited information circulated on social media as evidence.

Anderson told Asif that Pakistan has alleged that it shot down five Indian Air Force jets. However, India said there is no evidence of Pakistan's claims. "Can you provide more detail? Let's start with this very specific claim of five fighter jets shot down. Where's the evidence for that, sir?" asked the CNN journalist.

Responding to her, the Pakistani minister said that it is all over social media. "On Indian social media, not on our social media. The debris of these jets fell... it's all over Indian media."

However, Anderson was quick to shame him, reminding him that he is the defence minister of Pakistan. "You’re the defence minister, sir. The reason to talk to you today, sir, is not to talk about content all over social media. I'm sorry," the host said.

Asif's CNN interview was soon circulated on social media, with people brutally slamming the defence minister. One user said, "A day without international embarrassment is a day wasted on Pakistan." while another said, "Pakistan goes to international media only to embarrass themselves."

Another user said, "No wonder — US troops took out Osama bin Laden right near Pakistani army quarters, and they only heard about it later from the news!"
