Nashik: 4 Builders From Mumbai Accused Of Defrauding 163 Flat Buyers

The Bhadrakali Police have booked four Mumbai-based builders in a cheating case for not providing flat buyers with the facilities mentioned in their brochure.

Around 163 flat owners have alleged that they have been cheated by these builders who have not actually provided them with the facilities mentioned in the brochure while selling them flats. They also alleged that the builders cheated them by not establishing a society even after receiving the corpus fund. A case of cheating has been registered against four Mumbai-based builders at Bhadrakali police station in Nashik on May 7.

Abhijit Wankhede, who is working as a development officer in the Indian Postal Service Department, has filed a complaint in this case. The names of the builders against whom the case has been registered are Vinod Madanlal Talwar, Chandra Vinod Talwar, Sunil Devisahay Gupta and Kavita Sunil Gupta. All of them are residents of Mumbai. Wankhede has said in his complaint that this type of cheating took place between May 13, 2013 and June 20, 2024.

Wankhede looks after the affairs of Karma Galaxy Apartments located in the Kathe Gali area as the chairman. A total of 163 flat holders, including him, were cheated between May 2013 and June 2024. M/s Karma Realty had purchased the flats from four suspects who were partners in Karma Galaxy Apartments. At that time, the suspects had taken Rs 2,26,40,400 (Rs 2.26 crore) as corpus fund from these 163 people.

The society was not established as planned at the time of purchase of the flats. Apart from this, it is alleged that more than Rs 2.25 crore from the corpus fund was used for personal gains without providing facilities mentioned in the project brochure. The complaint states that Wankhede and other flat holders were cheated in this case.
