Delhi's India Gate Evacuated Amid High Alert After Pakistan Launches Drone, Missile Attack (VIDEO)

New Delhi, May 8: Tensions between India and Pakistan have intensified after Pakistan launched drone and missile attacks from Jammu and Kashmir to Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer on Thursday (May 8) night. In response, India took swift and strong military action and launched counter-attack against Pakistan. As a security measure, Delhi’s India Gate was completely cleared and no one is being allowed to stay in the vicinity of the iconic structure.

A video has surfaced on social media in which a police personnel is seen evacuating the area near the India Gate. He is seen carrying a loud speaker and asking the people to empty the place. He asked the public not to stand near India Gate reportedly for security reasons.

Pakistan launched a series of missile and drone attack in several areas of the country. However, all the missiles and the drones were intercepted by India's S-400 missiles defence systems. India also shot down three Pakistani fighter jets, including F-16 and two JF-17 fighter jets.

There are also reports that the Indian Armed Forces have caught two Pakistani pilots alive from Jammu and Kashmir's Akhnoor and Rajasthan's Jaisalmer. It is being said that these pilots ejected from these fighter jets which were shot down by the India Armed Forces.

India also launched counter-attack, targetting Lahore and other cities in the country. There are reports that a series of blasts have been heard in Pehsawar and India has also shot down Pakistan AWACS aircraft in Punjab Province. Indian forces have confirmed that there are no casualties reported in Pakistani attack.
