The Civil Aviation Ministry informed that at least 24 Indian airports have been temporarily shut down following the recent drone and missile attack by Pakistan on Indian cities like Jammu, Punjab, Gujarat and Rajasthan. Security has been heightened across airports worldwide. Hundreds of flights have been cancelled as tensions continue to rise between the two neighbouring countries- India and Pakistan.
Jammu, Chandigarh, Srinagar, Jaisalmer, Shimla and several others airports have been closed in India for civil flight operations.

As India-Pakistan tensions escalate sharply, The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has instructed all the airlines to heighten the security measures. Moreover, all the passengers will undergo a Secondary Ladder Point Check (SLPC).
According to sources, visitor entry into terminal buildings has been prohibited, and Air Marshals will be stationed as per the new directive.
