2 Kullu men held with 4.35-kg ‘charas’

A team of the district police’s crime unit at Kundli arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 4.350 kg ‘charas’ from their possession. The accused were produced in the court, which sent them in five-day police remand.

The accused have been identified as Kahan Chand and Sher Singh, residents of Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh.

A team of crime unit Kundli, led by Sub Inspector Ashish was on patrol near Bhawad village in the district when it got a tip-off that two drug peddlers with ‘charas’ were travelling in a car bearing Himachal registration number.

The team reached the canal bridge on Nizampur road and saw an Alto car coming. The police signalled the car to stop and found two youths sitting in.

The team searched the car and recovered ‘charas’ from their possession. The cost of recovered ‘charas’ is around Rs 10 lakh, the police said.

A case has been registered against the accused under various sections of the NDPS Act in the Baroda police station.
