Many speculated that the reason was Abhishek’s extra-marital affair with co-star Nimrat Kaur; others claimed that the relationship between Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya was not smooth. Jaya Bachchan is known for her straightforward attitude. However, there was a time when she praised Aishwarya and even said that she filled a void left by Shweta after she got married and went to her in-laws. Jaya appeared on the popular chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’ where the veteran actress said, “She is lovely; I love her. She is such a big star herself, and she has fitted in so well. She is a strong lady and has a lot of dignity.”

Admiring the way Aish behaves when she is with family, Jaya said, “When we’re all together, I’ve never seen her push herself forward. I like that quality—she stands behind me quietly, listens, and takes it all in.”

In the same conversation, Jaya revealed how Amitabh Bachchan’s eyes light up when he sees Aishwarya. The veteran actress said that every time Aishwarya walks in from the door, Amitabh’s eyes light up with joy and happiness, and it feels like Shweta is at home. Shweta Bachchan is the eldest child of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. She is married to businessman Nikhil Nanda.

Jaya added, “We’ve never fully adjusted to Shweta being outside the family. She’s out, and she’s not a Bachchan—it’s tough.”

Meanwhile, Abhishek and Aishwarya put a full stop to the rumours of their divorce after they jointly appeared at their daughter Aaradhya Bachchan’s annual day function.
