WATCH: J&K Border Town Residents Move To Safer Location Amid Continued Shelling By Pakistan

Residents in areas bordering the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir are moving to safer locations as Pakistan continues shelling along the border.

According to the officials Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire along the LoC and resorted to heavy shelling in civilian areas in the Uri sector of north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Thursday night.

The Pakistani troops targeted many areas of Uri, including Silikot, Boniyar, Kamalkote, Mohra and Gingle.

A woman was killed in the artillery shelling in Uri while she was moving with her family to a safer location. Two of her family members were also injured in the firing.

A resident recalled the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, saying there was a lot of shelling.

"At around 1 am, there was a lot of shelling here. There was no damage to the Gurdwara sahib and the medical dispensary here," the resident told ANI.
