Thane: A 21-year-old woman was gang-raped by five men in Titwala. The police registered a case against the accused on Wednesday. Two other women are also involved in the crime, as they were allegedly assisting the accused, according to a report by Hindustan Times.

The woman was reportedly drugged and assaulted by the men, with the involvement of her two female friends. Based on the woman's complaint, the Titwala police have registered a case against all seven individuals, according to Titwala police.

About Incident

The victim works for a construction company in Kalyan. Previously, she was staying at her maternal aunt's home in Titwala. After an argument, she decided to move in with a female friend who lived nearby. Ten days later, the victim planned to return to her aunt's house. One of her friends called a male friend to help her carry her luggage.

The male friend arrived with four other friends to assist. They all departed for her aunt's house by car. In her statement, the victim mentioned that the men took a different route to her aunt's place. When she questioned them about the change in route, they explained that they would go to a construction site first before dropping her off at her aunt's house, as per report.

According to a senior police officer, "At the construction site, she was suddenly injected with a sedative in the neck, and soon after, she lost consciousness. She later regained consciousness at a rest house in Kalyan, feeling disoriented and without any clothes." The officer added, "She suspects that she was sexually assaulted by the men while she was unconscious. After four days, one of the accused warned her not to disclose the incident to anyone, threatening to kill her and her family if she did," quoted by Hindustan Times.

The investigation is ongoing, but the police have filed a complaint against her two female friends and five men at the Titwala police station after the woman confided in her aunt, who then filed a complaint.
