Haryana Minister's Appeal Amid India-Pak Tensions: 'Don't Play Siren Alarms On TV...'
Haryana Minister Anil Vij on Friday made a special appeal to all the television channels to refrain from playing sirens amid ongoing tensisons with Pakistan.
The minister reasoned that in case of a real emergency, people might mistake a real alart for a television alert and will fail to take necessary safety measures.
"All channels are requested not to play the alarm siren repeatedly on their channels because if a real siren is ever played then people will think it is a TV siren and will not be able to take the necessary safety measures," Anil Vij said in a post on X.
The development comes a day after India on Thursday thwarted Pakistan's attempts to strike border areas in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat with drones and missiles.
Islamabad's attempts to attack the border areas on Thursday came hours after India targeted Pakistani air defence systems at multiple cities, with one in Lahore being neutralised.
The Indian armed forces, in a coordinated effort, on Wednesday carried out precise missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Pakistan under ‘Operation Sindoor’.
