IPL 2025 Suspended For A Week, Matches To Resume After 'Assessment Of Situation'
The remaining matches of IPL 2025 could be completed as early as next week, following BCCI's latest announcement confirming that the tournament has only been suspended for a week. A final decision on the revised schedule and venues will be taken after a thorough assessment of the current situation.
On Thursday evening, the IPL match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala was halted midway and eventually cancelled due to security concerns. Following this incident, BCCI has announced a one-week postponement of the ongoing season.

So far, 57 matches have been completed in IPL 2025, with Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals game ending without a result. Gujarat Titans currently lead the points table with 16 points from 11 matches, closely followed by RCB, who also have 16 points. A total of 16 matches - including the qualifiers and final on May 25 in Kolkata - are still pending in the tournament.
Earlier reports suggested that with the uncertainty surrounding the Asia Cup 2025 - scheduled for September and featuring Pakistan - the tournament might be called off entirely. In that case, the BCCI would have the option to consider using the September window to complete the remaining matches of IPL 2025.
