Operation Sindoor Inspires Parents To Name Their Newly Born Baby, 'Sindoori'

Patna: Operation Sindoor, targeted against nine terrorists’ hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir has filled up everybody with pride, but several parents in Bihar were so much inspired by it that they named their newly-born girl baby, Sindoori.

One of the couples--Santosh Kumar Mandal (30) and his wife Rakhi Kumari (23)—residents of Balthi Maheshpur under Kursela block in Katihar district, named their newly born baby, ‘Sinduri’, drawing inspiration from a joint military operation in Pakistan and PoK in early hours of Wednesday.

“Our baby was born on the day the Indian armed forces successfully launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ after the Pahalgam terror attack, claiming the lives of 26 innocent tourists. It was a proud moment not only for us but also for the entire nation,” said Santosh, who became father of his second daughter on May 7.

Santosh’s wife Rakhi was admitted to Katihar Seva Sadan early in the morning on May 7 where she delivered a baby girl after a surgery.

When asked what inspired him to name his newly born baby after ‘Operation Sindoor’, Santosh said, “I came to know about early morning airstrikes by Indian armed forces against Pakistan to avenge the Pahalgam massacre. It inculcated a sense of patriotism within me.”

“The moment I decided to name my newly born daughter after it, I shared the idea with my wife who also approved it. Hence the baby was named Sinduri. The nation will never forget May 7 when we took revenge for the deaths of innocent people. We will celebrate Sinduri’s birthday every year which coincides with ‘Operation Sindoor.”

The parents wished to enthuse Sinduri to join the Indian Army after completing her studies.

“Though we come from a lower middle-class family, we will leave no stone unturned to fulfill our dream. The support of the government and local administration will always be appreciated,” father of the newly born baby said.

The family depends largely on agriculture, which is the only means of livelihood. For the majority of residents of Balthi Maheshpur village, agriculture is the source of livelihood,” he informed.

‘Operation Sindoor’ has inspired several other parents to name their newly born kids after it. Himanshu Raj, a resident of Kanhara village in Muzaffarpur district, also named his newly born daughter Sinduri while Pawan Soni, a native of Jafarpur in Muzaffarpur, named his newly born son ‘Sindoor’. Pawan said that he wished his son to join the Indian Army.

A staff at a Muzaffarpur-based private hospital revealed that 12 babies born on May 7 at the childcare facility have been named after ‘Operation Sindoor’.
