Pune Video: One Side Of Old Yerwada Bridge Closed Due To Pothole

A traffic alert has been issued in Pune after a pothole developed on a section of the old Yerwada Bridge, also known as the Tarakeshwar Bridge, posing a serious risk to commuters.

As a result, the affected portion of the bridge has been closed to all vehicular traffic. However, the other side of the bridge remains open for traffic.

Long queues of vehicles were seen on approaching roads, particularly affecting those traveling from Pune Station and Swargate towards the eastern parts of the city

To reduce congestion and ensure commuter safety, the following alternate routes are recommended:

Route 1: Use PMPML bus number 509, which travels through Kalyani Nagar and Koregaon Park for a timely and safe journey.
Route 2: Opt for the route via Vishrantwadi, Deccan College Road, and Sangamwadi as a reliable and safer alternative.

Pune Municipal engineers are currently inspecting the structural integrity of the bridge. Repairs and further assessments are expected to take place over the coming days. In the meantime, motorists are requested to cooperate and plan their routes accordingly.
