Kangana Ranaut to make Hollywood debut with 'Blessed Be the Evil'

Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut is gearing up for her Hollywood debut in Blessed Be the Evil. The film will be directed by Anurag Rudra, with the script co-written by Gatha Tiwary, the founder and producer of Lions Movies. Cinematographer Wade Muller will lend his skills to the film.

Kangana is known for the films Emergency, Queen, Manikarnika, and Tanu Weds Manu. In her maiden Hollywood project, she will take on the lead role alongside Tyler Posey (known for Teen Wolf) and Sylvester Stallone’s daughter, Scarlet Rose Stallone.

Blessed Be the Evil is centred on a Christian couple grieving a miscarriage, who buy an abandoned farm, only to discover dark secrets. As per Anurag Rudra, folklore stories hold a special place in his heart, and he hopes to bring them to a global audience through cinema. It will also be presented to buyers at the Cannes Film Market 2025, which could open doors to even greater recognition. The film’s shoot is expected to take place in New York, and the decision to pick US locations was based on the influence of Trump’s tariffs on imported films.

Kangana’s statement about entering Hollywood sparked significant debates across social media, as she had earlier said that moving to the West would be foolish due to the decline of the theatre business there. She also said she wasn’t planning to join Hollywood anytime soon – yet now she is. Since not much information about her role has come to light, she is expected to bring the same power and performance she has shown in her previous films.
