Gwalior On Alert Amid Indo-Pak Tension; Sirens Installed In All 66 Wards Of The City
Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A meeting of senior officials held in Gwalior on the instructions of the district in-charge and Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat. Important decision has been taken in meeting regarding security arrangements of the city.
Divisional Commissioner Manoj Khatri instructed that all the 66 wards of the Municipal Corporation should be mapped and such a place should be selected where the entire city comes under its limits after installing the siren. Also, such a system should be ensured that if required, in an emergency, all the sirens can ring simultaneously on a single signal and citizens can be alerted.
After instructions, the work of installing siren system has been started from Firday morning at all the offices, streets, colonies and ward levels of the city

Along with this, at 12 o'clock in the night, Collector Ruchika Chauhan and SSP Dharamveer Singh reached the Control Command Center and alerted and checked the team in case of emergency.
SSP said that along with selecting the site through mapping, the work of installing the siren should also be completed as soon as possible. He instructed that the city residents should also be made aware to follow the signals received on the siren.
Divisional Commissioner Khatri said that through public awareness, explain to the people not to bring any kind of panic, all these arrangements are being made as a precaution.

In-charge Minister Silavat discussed with Divisional Commissioner Khatri about the preparations being made in the district to deal with the emergency situation. Along with this, he instructed to make strong arrangements as a precaution by holding a meeting of senior officials.
In this sequence, Divisional Commissioner Khatri held a meeting of senior officials on Thursday night. Inspector General of Police Arvind Saxena, Collector Ruchika Chauhan, Senior Superintendent of Police Dharamveer Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sangh Priya and Additional District Magistrate TN Singh were present in the meeting held at the Divisional Commissioner's office.
Divisional Commissioner Khatri said that along with installing sirens at new places in all the wards of the city, the sirens already installed in all the banks and other places of the city should be activated and bankers should be asked to put their employees on duty to start the sirens.
He said that the resident welfare organisations of various residential colonies should also be encouraged to install sirens in their colonies. In the meeting, Divisional Commissioner Khatri instructed the Municipal Corporation Commissioner that in case of an emergency, on getting signal from the siren, all the street lights should be switched off immediately.
