Pakistan’s military is observed to be moving forces into forward areas, further escalating the ongoing conflict with India. Colonel Sofiya Qureshi confirmed this during the press briefing along with Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
“The Pakistan military is observed to be moving their troops to border areas.” Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said while talking about the current situation. “Indian armed forces remain in a high state of operational readiness, and all hostile actions have been effectively countered and responded proportionately. Indian armed forces reiterated their commitment to non-escalation, provided the Pakistan side reciprocates.” Singh further added.
Officials said that Pakistan has also deployed a high speed missile in Punjab and attacked medical facilities in Srinagar, Avantipura, and Udhampur. “Pakistan military used high-speed missiles at 1.40 am to target air base in Punjab,” Qureshi disclosed.
The Indian army officials also revealed that they had targeted Pakistani military bases after Islamabad fired several heavy-calibre missiles to target multiple Indian air bases in Punjab. Colonel Sofia Qureshi, at the press conference also revealed that Pakistan had targeted several schools and medical institutions through fighter jets. She said, “Befitting reply has been given to Pakistani actions,” she said.
“Pakistani army is continuously attacking the western borders; it has used drones, long-range weapons, loitering munitions and fighter jets to attack India’s military sites. India neutralised many dangers, but Pakistan tried to infiltrate via Air at more than 26 places, and they damaged our equipment and personnel at air force bases in Udhampur, Bhuj, Pathankot, Bathinda. They used high-speed missiles at 1:40 am to target Punjab’s air base. They even attacked health facilities and schools,” the officer said.
It is the latest escalation in India-Pakistan conflict triggered by the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people, mostly tourists died. Following that, India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ during the early hours of Wednesday, May 7, destroying nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied areas.
