Cargo, check-in baggage now under CISF scanner
Amid heightened security concerns, the government has temporarily expanded the CISF's role at Indian civil airports. Effective May 9-18, 2025, CISF will oversee cargo and check-in baggage screening, previously managed by airport operators and airlines. This enhancement aims to reinforce security arrangements, with CISF personnel conducting random checks and overseeing access control to critical facilities.
