VIDEO: Soldier Injured In Gunfight After Suspect Spotted At Military Station In Nagrota; Search Operation Underway
Nagrota (Jammu and Kashmir), May 10: A soldier was injured in a short gunfight with a suspect at an army camp in Nagrota near Jammu on Saturday (May 10). The incident occurred at a Military Station in Nagrota.
As per reports, the soldier saw someone moving suspiciously near the camp's boundary and challenged the person, leading to the gunfire. A search operation is underway in the area to track the intruder(s).
White Knight Corps shared information about the incident on their official social media account and said, On noticing suspicious movement near the perimeter, alert sentry at #Nagrota Military Station issued a challenge, leading to a brief exchange of fire with the suspect. Sentry sustained a minor injury. Search operations are underway to track the intruder(s) @adgpi @NorthernComd_IA.
ANI reported, "Firing incident at an Army unit in Nagrota. As per Sentry, suspicious movement was seen, but there has been no further contact after initial engagement. Further investigations are on in the incident. More details awaited, said Army sources. Search operation by security forces underway in Nagrota, J&K."
There are also reports that Pakistani drones were spotted in Nagrota after Pakistan violated ceasefire within four hours of agreement on Saturday. There are reports of explosions being heard in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah shared the video of Pakistani attack which was intercepted by Indian air defence systems. It can be seen in the video that red streak in the sky and explosions being heard in the background.
He said, "What the hell just happened to the ceasefire? Explosions heard across Srinagar!!!" He also said, "This is no ceasefire. The air defence units in the middle of Srinagar just opened up.
