'We Have Won...': Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif Claims Victory Amid Ceasefire Violations (VIDEO)
Hours after Pakistan violated ceasefire, Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday addressed the nation. He thanked the Pakistan Army, China, Turkey and Muslim brotherhood. Sharif has also thanked the army of Pakistan, China and Turkey. Sharif lauded Army Chief Asim Munir and US President Donald Trump, who earlier in the day claimed to have mediated the ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
Speaking about the ongoing tensions with India, Sharif said, "Our Attack destroyed Enemy's Air Bases, & Ammunition. Their Rafale were shot down by us. We have won and this a victory of the of Pakistanis"
Before Shehbaz Sharif's speech, India's foreign secretary Vikram Misri called on Pakistan to "address violations" and claimed there had been "repeated violations of the understanding" the two countries had reached earlier. Sharif did not make any comments responding to what Misri had said.
He claimed that "mosques have been destroyed" in the last few days - a claim India has rejected.
The agreement of the ceasefire has been made "for the benefit of everybody", he added.
In a special mention to China and its people, he said, "I have to mention them, from the bottom of my heart, I want to say a big thanks to them."
He further said, "I want to extend my gratitude to President Trump," Sharif continues saying Washington played a "pivotal role in the ceasefire." Notably, India has not spoken anything about mediation by the US.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Information Minister Atta Tarar on late Saturday night rejected the claims by Indian Government of ceasefire violation. According to a news report, the Minister said that Pakistan didn't violate ceasefire agreement.
