India-Pakistan Tensions: Delhi airport operations remain normal, issues travel advisory
Amid the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) on Sunday said that operations are proceeding smoothly at the Delhi Airport.”Delhi Airport operations continue to run smoothly. However, In light of evolving airspace dynamics and heightened security protocols mandated by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, there may be adjustments to flight schedules and longer wait times at security checkpoints,” the airport said in its latest travel advisory.
Issuing a detailed advisory, the airport operator urged passengers to stay updated through their respective airline’s communication channels, comply with guidelines for carry-on and checked baggage, arrive early to allow for possible delays at security, cooperate with airline and security staff for smooth processing, and confirm flight status through their airline or the official Delhi Airport website.
The advisory reads, “We strongly advise all passengers to depend exclusively on official updates for accurate information and to refrain from circulating unverified content.” Previously, the Airports Authority of India (AAI), along with other concerned aviation bodies, released a series of Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) announcing the temporary suspension of civil flight operations at 32 airports across Northern and Western India. The NOTAM is in effect from May 9, 2025, to May 14, 2025 (until 05:29 IST on May 15, 2025), citing operational reasons.

The list of 32 airports include Adhampur, Ambala, Amritsar, Awantipur, Bathinda, Bhuj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), Leh, Ludhiana, Mundra, Naliya, Pathankot, Patiala, Porbandar, Rajkot (Hirasar), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thoise and Uttarlai.
