Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Former Mayor Nandkumar Ghodele Proposes Rs 1,880 Crore For People-Centric Schemes In CSMC
Former mayor Nandkumar Ghodele submitted a proposal to the 16th finance commission demanding the funds of Rs 1,880 crore for implementing various people-centric schemes through Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC). A meeting was held at the Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai on Thursday with the officials of the 16th finance commission with the former representatives of local self-help government. Ghodele represented CSMC during the meeting along with accounts officer Sanjay Kolte and others. Former representatives of the local self-help bodies along with the administrative officers were present.
The chairman of the 16th finance commissioner Dr Arvind Pangariya, members Somayya Kanti Ghosh, Manok Panda, Mukesh Khullar and others were present.
Godele submitted a proposal of Rs 1,880 crore for implementing various schemes through CSMC, which primarily included the strengthening and empowering fire brigade with the expense of Rs 320 crore, solar panal system at Jayakwadi water purification project worth Rs 85.70 core, water supply scheme worth Rs 1,79 crore, strengthening of machine department worth Rs 81.85 crore, new city water supply scheme worth Rs 822.22 crore and water related works worth Rs 55 crore, drainage works Rs 266.70 crore, property inspection chamber Rs 137.30 crore, nullah security walls Rs 100 crore, solid waste management Rs 10.49 crore, all amounting to Rs 1,880 crore.
The concerned proposal was prepared after consultation with municipal commissioner and administrator G Srikanth, chief accounts and finance officer Santosh Wahule and other officers. Apart, Rs 100 crore was separately demanded for the new e-bus service, land acquisition for various schemes and solid waste management.
Ghodele proposed that the criterion for the distribution of the funds should not be based on the population. The commission showed a positive response to the demands made in the proposal.
