‘Operations still ongoing’: IAF urges people to avoid speculations and wait for…
New Delhi: The Indian Air Force on Sunday announced that it has successfully executed its task in Operation Sindoor, informing that the operation is still underway and has not finished. Taking to X, the IAF said, “The Indian Air Force (IAF) has successfully executed its assigned tasks in Operation Sindoor, with precision and professionalism. Operations were conducted in a deliberate and discreet manner, aligned with National Objectives.”
The IAF requested people of the country to refrain from speculation and disseminate unverified information. Informing that the operations are still ongoing, the IAF stated that a detailed briefing will be conducted very soon.
“Since the Operations are still ongoing, a detailed briefing will be conducted in due course. The IAF urges all to refrain from speculation and dissemination of unverified information,” the IAF said.
In response to a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, that claimed 26 lives of tourists, the Indian military started ‘Operation Sindoor’. Under the operation, the Indian Armed Forces conducted strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). This action escalated tensions between both the countries, leading to massive cross-border shelling and reciprocal military responses. Border regions experienced heavy security measures and temporary blackouts during periods of Pakistani attacks.
On May 10, India and Pakistan agreed for a cessation of hostilities.
On Saturday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, during a press briefing, informed that Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations called his Indian counterpart and during the conversation the two sides agreed to halt all military actions – on land, at sea, and air. The directives were given and got effective from 1700 hours IST.
Following a ceasefire agreement, further talks between military officials are planned for May 12th. However, ceasefire violations occurred on Saturday night in several areas, including Srinagar, Jammu, Kathua, and Nagrota. Additionally, Indian air defenses intercepted Pakistani drones near Udhampur, accompanied by a power outage and reported explosions. Similar blackouts were also implemented in Pathankot, Ferozepur, Jaisalmer, and Barmer.
