'Jis Din Passion Khatam Ho Gaya...': Old Video Of Virat Kohli Surfaces After India Legend Announces Test Retirement

Team India's star batter Virat Kohli's admission about what motivates him has been surfacing on social media after the veteran announced his Test retirement. During the show Breakfast with Champions , host Gaurav Kapoor asked the 36-year-old asked what motivates him and he stated that he would retire the day his passion for winning ends.

On May 10, Saturday, reports had emerged that the 36-year-old had communicated to the BCCI about wanting to retire from Test cricket. On Monday, the veteran put out a lengthy Instagram post, claiming how it was not easy to walk off from the format. However, Kohli said the timing feels right and is proud of everything he gave for.

Speaking to Gaurav Kapoor, Kohli said the biggest driving force behind playing is winning and that he doesn't want to be on the field only to participate. He stated:

"Motivation is just about winning. Jis din passion khatam ho gaya, I'll stop playing. I'll never want to drag myself for more than what my body can take. Jis din I feel like why am I standing on the field like what am I doing, woh passion nahin hai jeetne ka, woh energy nahin hai jeetne ki, main nahin khel sakta hoon. Then that will just be a participation thing, woh skill hai, khelne ka idea hai toh run bana diye. If I can't contribute to the thing, I won't play."
