Govt will back HSGPC’s work for Sikh welfare: Haryana CM

A delegation of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (HSGPC) met Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini at his residence today. The CM congratulated the newly elected committee members and called the peaceful conduct of HSGPC elections a historic moment for the Sikh community. He expressed hope that the committee would serve the ‘Guru Ghar’ with honesty and dedication.

“This committee will play a vital role in managing Sikh gurdwaras in the state. The government will provide full support to help the HSGPC work for societal welfare and establish a strong identity,” said the Chief Minister.

Nine co-opted members, in addition to the 40 elected earlier, were part of the visiting delegation. They also submitted suggestions related to Sikh welfare, to which the CM responded positively and assured action.

Touching upon the ongoing interstate water dispute, CM Saini said, “Punjab and Haryana are brothers. The Mann government must not politicise water. Haryana deserves its rightful share, as per the teachings of the Gurus —resources should be shared equitably.”

Prominent Sikh leaders, including Jagdish Singh Jhinda, Baljit Singh Daduwal, and Gulab Singh Munak attended the meeting, along with the CM’s political secretary Tarun Bhandari and other dignitaries.
