Vignesh Shivan's 'Love Insurance Kompany', starring Pradeep Ranganathan, gets release date

On Monday, director Vignesh Shivan announced that his latest film, Love Insurance Kompany, will hit theatres on September 18th.

 

Known for his comedy-driven narratives, this marks Vignesh's sixth directorial. The filmmaker is known for Podaa Podi, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, Paava Kadhaigal (Love Panna Uttarnum), and Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.

 

Although filming wrapped up a month ago, this was a project in the making since 2019 and was originally set to be starred by Sivakarthikeyan in the lead, but that did not materialise due to budget constraints, mainly due to its content and production.

 

The film, in its current form, stars Pradeep Ranganathan, Krithi Shetty and SJ Suryah in lead roles, with Yogi Babu, Gouri G. Kishan, Mysskin, Seeman, Anandaraj, Sunil Reddy and Shah Ra in supporting roles. Cinematography is handled by Sathyan Sooryan, with editing done by Pradeep E Raghav. 

The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichandran, reuniting with Shivan in their 4th collaboration. The film is produced by Shivan’s wife and actress Nayanthara, through Rowdy Pictures in collaboration with 7 Screen Studio. 

 

Although not much about the plot has been released, it has been reported that it is a science fiction romantic comedy, telling the story of a man who time travels in search of love.
