Navi Mumbai News: NMMC Announces 24-Hour Water Supply Shutdown On May 14-15 For Morbe Pipeline Repairs

Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has announced a 24-hour water supply shutdown across several parts of the city on May 14 and 15, 2025, due to crucial repair work on the Morbe main water pipeline.

The pipeline near Agroli bridge adjacent to the railway track and under the bridge near Chikhale village has been experiencing frequent leakages. As part of the second phase of the replacement project, NMMC will carry out repair work on Wednesday, May 14.

To facilitate this operation, water supply from the Bhokarpada Water Treatment Plant will be completely suspended from 12:00 noon on Wednesday, to 12:00 noon on Thursday.

"During this period, residents of Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Turbhe, Sanpada, Koparkhairane, Ghansoli, and Airoli will experience no water supply on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning," a NMMC official said.

In addition, areas under CIDCO’s jurisdiction such as Kharghar and Kamothe nodes, along with all direct water connections to the main pipeline, will also be affected during the shutdown.

NMMC has advised citizens to store water in advance and use it judiciously. The corporation has also warned that water supply on the evening of May 15 may be restored with low pressure and might remain inadequate in some areas.

"Residents are urged to cooperate with the civic body during this maintenance period to ensure a smooth and successful execution of the repair work," the officer added.
