Breaking News: Encounter Breaks Out in Shopian, Security Forces Intensify Operations | ABP NEWS

An encounter has broken out in the upper forest areas of Shopian district, Jammu and Kashmir. The security forces have Sealed off  the entire region, heightening their efforts to capture militants believed to be hiding in the area. The operation began after gunfire was heard, raising suspicions of militant presence. The police confirmed that security forces have tightened their grip on the area, with additional troops deployed to reinforce the operation. While no casualties have been reported so far, it is speculated that the militants may have fired to delay the advancing security teams. The militants are thought to be the ones responsible for the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which is still under investigation. However, it remains unclear which militant group is involved or how many militants are present.
