Maharashtra Crime: 40-Year-Old Man Brutally Attacked With Iron Hammer Over Loud Music Dispute In Vasai; 3 Accused Absconding
Palghar, Maharashtra: A 40-year-old man from Vasai was seriously injured after being allegedly attacked with an iron hammer by a neighbor in a dispute over loud music. The incident occurred around 8:30 am on Sunday, May 12, near the Vasai Bus Depot.
The victim, identified as Sunil Jayashri Chauhan, a daily wage laborer residing near Gausiya Masjid in Koliwada, Vasai, was reportedly assaulted after confronting his neighbors for playing loud music on a speaker.
According to his statement to the Vasai Police, the altercation stemmed from a prior dispute on May 10, when Chauhan had requested the neighbors to lower the speaker volume while his children were studying.
According to Chauhan's statement, one of the accused, Shailendra Sani, is alleged to have struck him on the head and near his right eye with an iron hammer. Two other individuals, identified as Sonu Goud and Ramsanai Sahani, are accused of assisting in the attack and urging the main assailant to inflict fatal injuries.
All three accused fled the scene after the attack. An FIR has been registered at Vasai Police Station under various relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, for attempt to murder. Chauhan was rushed to a nearby hospital and is currently under medical care.
Senior police officials, including the Assistant Commissioner of Police and the Senior Police Inspector, have visited the site. Police Sub-Inspector Umesh Bhosale is leading the investigation, while efforts are ongoing to trace and arrest the accused.
