Govt committed to strengthening education sector: Himachal Deputy Speaker

Deputy Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Vinay Kumar reiterated the state government’s firm commitment to providing high-quality education along with essential infrastructure in all educational institutions to ensure the holistic development of students.

Addressing a public gathering after inaugurating a newly constructed science laboratory and library building at PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Nauhradhar—built at a cost of Rs 38 lakh—Vinay Kumar highlighted several innovative initiatives undertaken by the state to strengthen the education sector. “These efforts have earned the state recognition at the national level for its progressive education system,” he said.

He said education remains one of the top priorities of the Himachal Pradesh government. Flagship schemes such as the Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana and Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar Student Loan Scheme are enabling students from economically weaker sections to access higher education opportunities.

The Deputy Speaker also emphasised the government’s commitment to qualitative improvement in education. “As part of this effort, 270 teachers have been sent to countries like Singapore and Cambodia, while 200 others were given exposure visits to Kerala and other Indian states to learn global best practices in education,” he added.

Later, Vinay Kumar laid the foundation stone for the Mukhyamantri Lok Bhawan in Gram Panchayat Nauhradhar, a project to be constructed at a cost of Rs 46 lakh. During the visit, local residents presented their demands and concerns, to which the Deputy Speaker assured responsive action.

He affirmed his ongoing commitment to the development of the Renuka Assembly constituency and said he frequently visits the region to understand the needs of the people firsthand. Concluding his visit, the Deputy Speaker also attended the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha being held from May 8 to 14 at the revered Shirgul Temple in Galiyo, where he sought divine blessings.
